Would you rather a big brain or a big 🍆 ?

Classical Greek sculptures are renowned for their detailed and lifelike depictions of the male body. Many of us here at Chicago Male Enhancement are Greek or Italian and we grew up with the idea of the roman or Greek sculptures being the ideal male body.

However, one thing that always stood out or seemed, well, out of size frame was the modest size of male penis in these historic marble pieces. In comparison to modern preferences for larger sizes, ancient Greek artists chose to depict smaller, flaccid penises. This choice was very deliberate and was actually a reflection of cultural values and aesthetics.

In ancient Greece, the small and non-erect penis was associated with ideals of beauty, self-control, and rationality. The Greeks valued unique thought, moderation and intellectual prowess over physical dominance or primal urges. A smaller penis was seen as a symbol of a balanced and civilized man, one who was not driven by base desires and one that did not covet a physical prowess and strength but rather an intelligential one.

Those intellectual values and ideals are reflected in many famous sculptures, such as those of Zeus, Apollo, and other deities and heroes. These classic artworks were often portrayed with perfect physiques, embodying the Greek ideal of arete (excellence) in both mind and body. The small penis size put the emphasis on their intellectual and moral superiority, aligning with the societal norms of the time.

Curiously enough this illustration of a subdued male form is quite the opposite in other ancient cultures, such as the Egyptians and Mesopotamians, where a large penis is often symbolized power and fertility. The Greek approach highlights the diversity of cultural values and how they influence artistic expression. Which culture do you find yourself aligning with? Comment below.

In conclusion, the choice to depict smaller penises in classical Greek sculptures was a deliberate and culturally significant one. It reflected the Greek admiration for moderation, self-discipline, and intellectualism, offering a fascinating insight into their world and values. Understanding this context enriches our appreciation of these timeless works of art.
